Are RE SE 12's good for spl

I currently have 2 12' jl w0s and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to upgrade to two SEs. The will be going in a sealed 1.5 cF box and be powered by a jbl 1200. This isn't going to change. Would the upgrade be worth it. I want a lot of spl, not for a comp, I just want to be able to knock pictures of the wall if you know what I mean. I also want decent sq, but its not that important.

Are SEs decent for that. I only want to spend about $250 for new subs and a friend is going to give me his SEs used for that, they are in great quality. One of my other friends bought a FnF Lightening Audio set and I'm ashamed to say it sounds better then my system right now. Any other recommendations are welcome

lol jk im sure theres worse.

lets just say my old 2 10" SE's sealed of a JBL 1200, would destroy 12" w3's in SPL, even my friends tahoe with 3 12" w3's off 1000 watts was not close to being as loud as me. SE's are on par with w6v2's. get the SE's, they are worth every penny.

I just got my 12" SE yesterday and its AWESOME sub. They are well worth it. As of right now my SE is underpowered by about 300 watts, but it still performs much better and sounds much better than my old fosgate sub.

they get much louder off 600 vs 300 watts. i had mine off 300 watts for a while then i put my jbl into 1 ohm and bam they were really wangin.

ok i kno the jls **** i was wondering if its worth it to upgrade to the se or if I should save a few dollars and get some compvrs, mtx 8000s, type rs, or diamond cm3s. If I get one of those I only gotta buy a jbl 600.1 and I'll save more money.

Keep in mind I'm just trying to beat a pair of lightening audio 12's my friend has, he swears it a good system, and I should buy from best buy, I just want to show him the light, and rattle a few heads whiile I'm at it. I listen to mostly rap so I was thinking sq isn't as necessary compared to other genres, so I want something that will sound decent and get loud.

The SE's are better than MTX 8000's and Type-R's for less price. They are also much better than compvr's and get louder than Diamonds. So they are your best choice especially if you're trying to "rattle a few heads".

If you want SPL you need to port them, there really isn't any way around it. I would also say it beats out all the other options you mentioned. Although out of the subs you mentioned the diamond is the closest second, they can get loud, and they can sound good, but not as good as the SE //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ok i am thinking about purchasing two 12'' SE. I've been lookin at postingas and people have been saying that they can get loud, and thats good for me, but how about the sq? Because i was thinkin about getting 2 12'' JLW3's or the SE's which would get louder and have better SQ?
