Are Alpine AMPs worth a ****

I am looking at setting up my system in the cobra and to cut some $s down I am looking at getting 2 Alpine amps -Alpine MRV-F540 and Alpine MRV-T420. What are you opinion on these amps. I am looking to have them push 1 JL audio 10W6 or 10" MB Quart and the other will push front and rear JL audio 5 x 7's

not yet, I am still finalizing a system. My budget is around 3500.00 for system, install and tax. I am really trying to get them to focus on the install since my I enter the cobra in shows, plus I want the system to be as clean and tight as possible, not so much worried about being the loudest

Ok, with that much money...even with install, you can get MUCH better equipment. Ok, what i list will be WORLDS better...

CD Player: Eclipse 8053 (~400)

Front: Diamond Audio Hex 6.5" 600s components ($280 NEW ebay)

Front amp: Zapco ref750($500) or my choice Phoenix Gold Titanium 400.4 ($300)

Sub: 1 12" stereo integrity magnum d2 (http://www.stereointegrity.com) $300

Sub amp: Phoenix Gold Titanium 1200.1 ($700) or Tantrum 1200.1 ($300

ok, less than $2000 in product. at least $1,500 left for install, box, accessories. Factor in a High output 200 amp alternator via http://www.excessiveamperage.com ($280) You're set. That is almost the epitome of an SQ system...simply amazing. Have the installer fiberglass custom kick panels for the components up front, have them build a 1.5 cube sealed enclosure for the sub. It will sound amazing, and be loud as a beneficial side-effect. peace
