anyway to fix tinted tails that do not look so good?

x2
Do a 600 or so wetsand on them and see how it looks. If it comes off easy then strip them down and re-do it. But if it looks salvageable then continue with the wetsanding process then polish&buff.
all right seems like i should try this before re tint. for wet sand just dip the actual sand paper in to some water and mabye mist on the tails them selfs?

wet sand and polish/buff...
600-1000-1400-2000 then Plastic Polish, REALLY worked on my RX7 FTP's they look brand frikkin' new!!

i used those grits (or very close to those) then buffed with plastic polish and a wax applicator

edit: quoted the wrong person..

you have a LOT of sanding ahead of you.. don't rush it. take your time, PATIENCE IS KEY.

Get a small spray bottle, clean it out, then fill it with water and a few drops of dish soap.

Spray the surface and keep it wet while also consistently rinsing the sandpaper.

After wetsanding they will probably look like shit and be all scratched up so you will have to buff the hell out of them with rubbing compound, followed by polishing compound, to take out all the scratches from the sanding.

ya ill take my time. no rush. thats why i want a2nd pair to work on rather than my only set so i do not have to worry about rushing. would any rubbing compund work like the turtle wax rubbing compund i know turtle wax is not the best buy i have a can of it laying around.

i'm sure you could try it. if you want you could just use PlastiX.. plastix is basically a fine fine fine fine fine rubbing compound that you can use. you are going to spend a lot of time buffing.

all right thanks ill look into that stuff

alright to update this. i got them today and they dont look that bad at all. im probably just going to wet sand polish and spray some clear. if i wet sand and then not spray tint but spray some clear will they turn out shiny with no scratches? or will i have scratches in it if i do not spray another layer of tint. thanks.

you shouldn't need to spray them with tint again unless you end up sanding down through the tint spray. Wet sand like a mofo and polish them up real well and they should look great.
