wet sand and polish/buff...

600-1000-1400-2000 then Plastic Polish, REALLY worked on my RX7 FTP's they look brand frikkin' new!!

i used those grits (or very close to those) then buffed with plastic polish and a wax applicator

ya ill probably try that before i try re tinting them.

prob have to sand, retint, then clear
ya i think thats what ill have to do.

it's going to take some work but they are doable. Why not just get yours done with laminex or rockblocker?
i want to keep my stock pair so if i get shit from cops i have a pair to put back on. aslo could ya explain what leminex and rockblocker are?

laminex and rockblocker are a transparent film that is applied to the outside of your taillight housing. You can get it in different levels of darkness and if applied correctly will look smooth as hell and also allows light to shine through better than spraying them. You can also remove it and go back to stock if you have problems with the local law enforcement. I have it done on my car but its raining or I would get you a pic.

ya that sounds like good stuff. but i dont know how good it would be with the flow of my tails there not exactly flat or anything so i think i would have a hard time making it look good.

your right though..your tails might be more of a pain in the *** because of the shape. Tint spray works good if you do it properly. I sprayed the lights on my s10 a few years back and they came alright but the light didn't shine through to well.

x2

Do a 600 or so wetsand on them and see how it looks. If it comes off easy then strip them down and re-do it. But if it looks salvageable then continue with the wetsanding process then polish&buff.

Also, if they arent too dark already and are in halfway decent shape you might be able to get away with a light sanding and just another coat, but Im not too sure.

I imagine this would be nice on headlights too. where do you get it?

edit: NVM i found it.

i gotta do the same thing to mine i need , but yea sand um down, but instead of polishing them arnt you supposed to sand them before you spray them? I didnt and then hit them with alot of clear and it turned out ok. But i think if i sanded them then sprayed then cleared them it would look better
