Anybody Run an IA Flatlyne?

Just curious if anybody can give me some insight on the Flatlyne. I’d love to throw a sub in my wife’s car, but she doesn’t want anything crazy. I figured a nice sq sub would be good for her, but I’d also like to be able to turn it up when I’m driving it so I’m curious if they can get loud(ish)?

Buy a couple of nice 8's in a ported box. It will be perfect. $200 for the subs and $150 for an amp. Build a 2 cubic foot box. Done.

I saw a video of e x c o n t r a l t o on YouTube blasting one and it was definitely doing pretty well on lower power. Look good to me and incriminator audio is a proven product

What vehicle is it going in and what amplifier you going to use? How much space you giving up for the sub? Ported or Sealed? What your Budget?

That is what I myself would throw in there without building an enclosure. I WOULD NOT Run at a 1 ohm Load in that Car. Ive had better luck running @ 2 Ohm load in Hondas, Do the Big 3 on it IMO Get a good Battery/AGM(Oriley Super Start AGM are pretty reliable) largest one you can fit.

Im a Honda guy and no matter the vehicle I drive of any brand I've always had way better luck with everything running at 2 - 4 ohms impedance so the amp does not have to work anywhere near as hard, the signal is cleaner the draw is less, and everything is better. Your equipment will last longer investing in an overpowered high quality amp and running it at 2:00 to 4 ohms will actually save you money in the long run while improving your sound quality
That is definitely solid advice.

Hell of a sub. Flatlyne reminds me of 2 subs that are discontinued, the JBL WGTI and Audiofrog GS12 (if you've run or heard either of those 2 then you'd know the flatyne is no joke).

Only issue is the price is fairly steep. The closest "step down but more cost effective" equivalent I could think of is the Dayton Ultimax

So they can get pretty loud? I mean compared to SPL subs around the 600 watts rms range? And do they run well right at the 600 watts or do they need a little more?

That’d be nice, but it’s too much for my wife. Also, I really want to stay on factory electrical since it’s just a lease and she’ll trade it in in a couple of years. So I’d like to stay around 500-600 watts rms at 2 ohms. And I’ve never had a sq sub so I thought I might try one in her car.

For a LEASE VEHICLE I recommend a Powered Bazooka. Easy to install and nothing needed for electrical upgrades and can be easily removed when not needed. Not a slamming sub, but will be enough to add to a stock system and can deliver some decent bass for it with very minimum amount of work to install

Might find one cheaper by searching the internet
