Any way to get Gracenote Info for my aftermarket CD?

I just bought a ’22 Subaru WRX. I added an aftermarket CD player that plugs into the USB port. It works fine, but does not give any of the artist or song info, just Track #. I know the stereo uses Gracenote as whenever I plug in my iPod, the display says “Powered by Gracenote” and it displays all of the song info and artwork for all of the songs played on the iPod. Is there anyway to get the Gracenote to work with the CD and display the artist and song names?

Is the USB that goes from the cd player to the head unit the originally connected cable that came with it, or did you use a different one. Some USB cables are power only and some are information too.

Yes - the cable just comes out of the back of the CD player - it doesn't have a connector on that end so that it could be replaced.

But my thought was that the information that it needs (from Gracenote) is in the car stereo, not the CD player, so that wouldn’t matter. I assumed since the display unit in the car says “Powered by Gracenote” or something like that when I plug in my iPod, that the stereo has the info in it.
