Any Suggestions?

I've talked to quite some people and I've decided what system setup I want to purchase within the next month...

Head Unit: Alpine CDA-7878 ($450)

Amp: JBL BP1200.1 ($300)

Subs: *2* Digital Design 3512 ($500)

If anyone wants to give me suggestions on these products please do, this will affect my future budget... Thanks~!

good stuff, you should be satisfied. I will mention in my opinion that the jbl isn't quite on par with alpine and DD, probably more of an "image" thing than anything else, but I'm sure it will get the job done. I'd be thinking dei or possibly Optidrive.

Yes I have gotten a suggestion on the JBL BP1200.1 vs. Directed 1400 amps. I would prefer Directed amp, but it's $360 on ebay I may consider purchasing that... Thanks n2~!

I think that the 1200.1 would be a whole lot better choice and are even better priced. What kind of subs are you pushing? Are they Digital Designs? If so what is the RMS on them.

The subwoofers I'm planning on getting are the Digital Design 3512 (2 ohm) and the subs push out 600w RMS and 1200w Peak. I'm having problems choosing between the JBL 1200.1 and the DEI Directed 1100d. I'm leaning more towards the DEI amp. Any suggestion guys?

Where I live there's a Circuit City store. I asked a person well-known for audio equipment. He quoted me a price of $450 for teh CDA-7878.

Darn, they jacked the price on the Alpine CDA-7878 to $650, any suggestions on a head unit with good performance for around $400-500?

Just look around..Alpine has a ton of decks out..Pioneer has a pretty good selection..Eclipse has a few decks around that price range and if you like Alpine you would probably like them too they arent as pretty but very funtional and high quality..They don't have low end equipment.

Obviously the 1200.1 is the much better choice as far as watts per dollar. But the dei is regarded as one of the best 1kw+ sub amps being made. Plus, it's built in america, vs. Korea for the jbl. With the money you're spending on HU and subs I'd think you'd want something with a bit more class than the jbl. JMO.
