Just about done with this build.. still waiting on a 120GB solid state drive and 16gigs of ram coming in the mail. Then I'm saving up for a graphics card and I'm finally done..

Yea, that's electrical tape holding my hard drive in.. screws are in the mail

I was going to build a rig before the year is up but right now my laptop is still doing well for gaming...so i can spare another year...

2.53ghz core 2 duo (can OC to 2.90 from factory)

6gb ram

500gb hdd

17inch screen (i connect it to my 40 inch tv though)

Nvidia Geforce GTX 260m

But I love the guts on your machine...not to fond of the case (That big azz fan bugs me)

Also why 16gb of memory? for the most part that amount of memory will be useless :\

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the case either, but I got it cheap on craigslist and it keeps everything surprisingly cool. Once I get all the main components I'll probably look for a new one.

I really wish I had more RAM but the price jump from 4GB sticks to 8GB sticks is tremendous and my motherboard only has 4 slots, so 16GB it is. 32 bit versions of windows only support up to 4GB of RAM, so yea it'd be kinda useless in that scenario but I'm running 64 bit which supports up to 192GB of RAM.

No i understand about the windows and all (I've been in this business for the last 8 years lol) but what I am asking is what exactly are you running that you will utilize 16gb of memory? seems like it would be a waste because 8gb should be more than enough...especially if all you do (Stressing the system wise) is game.

haha no I just wanted eyefinity but now after gaming on 3 monitors I kind of want to sell these and just get 2 27-28" monitors.

Yea I added it to my first post I have a ups on this and my server so even if I loose power I can stay on for 30 mins haha.

I plan to make this computer a media hub for my local network. Just ordered a mod chip for my original xbox (little behind the times I know) which will allow me to swap out the original HD for something a little bigger (probably 300GB or so) to store games on and all my TV shows/movies will be stored on the rig above and streamed across the network via xbmc. Two monitors also means I can have like 4 tabs of pron open. I attain most all of my digital content through torrents and I might use it to game on occasion. But mostly that's what the 360 is for.

So, in summation. If I want to do all that chit at once, that's why I have all that RAM. Plus it was only 70 shipped for 16gigs so why not.
