Any Aftermarket Speakers With Midbass Like Factory Speakers?

Yeah, I know the title may sound funny, but I'm serious.

Can any of you please name some 6.5/6.75" & 6x9 car speakers that sound good and ALSO have midbass output like factory speakers?

I've never heard a 2-way or 3-way after market speaker with near as much midbass output as the factory speakers i've heard. If you can help me with finding some that are on par with the midbass output of the factory speakers I will appreciate it VERY much.

Heck, my mother's rear deck speakers, JUST the reardeck speakers, in her 93' Escort, which are 5-1/4 or 6-1/2" speakers have more midbass response than my Infinity Kappa 6x9's used to, lol. And yes, I had them amped. Sad but true.

I'd really hate to have to get some 6x9's or some 8's custom installed into my doors just to get some decent midbass output in my system.

Or do I REEEALY have to buy some replacement factory speakers? LMAO, I hope not. Your help will be appreciated VERY much, ty.

All I can tell you is you've heard some pretty piss poor component systems in your day. A decent amplified 6.5" component system will outperform virtually any stock front stage hands down.

mdjai, you're not the only person who hasn't heard factory like midbass from aftermarket components

i've had infinity perfects, jl 3-ways and the current pioneer PRS and none has the midbass i've heard from factory systems

true, the components mentioned can handle more power without distortion but they're just lacking that midbass :)

infinity perfects blows. Infinity really blows in general. Amps are pretty decent, but the speakers ****. And yes, I've heard them. My farts have more midbass.

That being said, do you really mean midbass? Or do you mean you want more full range sound? Stock systems have no sub, so they often go down very low, making an illusion that they have more bass. My pioneer rev's (6x9) have more bass in general then my moms Honda 98 Accord stock system just by themselves.

Most likely, you don't have sound deadening, and you have the speakers installed on plastic brackets.

WOW, all the reviews I've read about the PRS comps rave about the midbass.

I'm "guessing" it's an install issue. Xover settings not right, doors not deadened, etc...

My rear fill is REV coax's high passed at 120Hz and they still pump out some decent midbass when playing kick drums. Same when I had JBL's back there.

My AA poly mids fool people into thinking I have a sub playing, seriously. And there's plenty of comp sets known for having strong midbass. Do some research on this site and diyma. Maybe go the DIY route.

why are there so many threads about this?

Factory speakers have no highs, no clarity, sound like absolute crap and are made of paper, that vibrates too easily which produces lows, and crappy midbass

I would take aftermarket over factory any day!!!!!

And if you want bass, thats what subs are for

CDT, Rainbow, Focal (BEST midbass I ever heard).

I am rockin out with 2 sets of Rockford Fosgate P162s in my Silverado, and I love every second of it. I got 1 set in the front doors, and 1 set in the kickpanels. It sounds really nice to me. MUCH better than my factory.

Use some foamy weatherstripping to seal the mids up to the doorcards, it helps. Don't be 'fraid to use your hu's crossovers to tweak, even if you're using passives on the components.

for the most part, that is exactly my experience. I knew i couldnt be the only one

I am also tired of these threads. People expect their mids to play down to 30hz and such.
Nobody made you click on the thread, or respond //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And I never even hinted at wanting my mids to play down to 30hz. I just want 80hz and up.
