Amplifier trouble

I recently bought a sub and amplifier. A JL audio 12" W0 and a 500 watt amp. I wired the whole thing myself and there is power going to the amp but not very much, the red power light is on but it is really weak and you can barely see it. So there is no sound to the speaker because i guess of the lack of power and i tried to ground it in 3 different places but nothing seams to work. I am really sure i wired it right. Does anybody know what could be wrong?

You need a DMM to check the voltage going to the amp.

what size power wire did you use and where did you connect it?
