amp to subs question

I need to know the best way to connect my subs to my system. The way I have it now,I'm using a pioneer head unit model DEHP7200,I'm using the sub output on the radio to go directly to a two channel amp in stereo I'm running two 12inch subs Which are 4 Ohm svc, they each handle 500rms. The amp can be bridged to 4ohms mono 2ohms stereo the power per side is 400rms stereo 800 bridged..I basiclly need to if, I should keep them running stereo or should I run them mono,I was thinking of getting a mono block amp and wire the subs inn parallel droping the ohms to two.The amp I'm looking at can handle down to a 1 ohm load. can u bridge your current amp?(using one sides neg and the others pos, should have a diagram in front of the speaker outs showing u which ones)

are your subs svc or dvc?

are they 2. 4, 8 ohm?

what is your amp stable too?(ohm wise?)

answer those questions and someone will be better able to answer yours.

anyway, wire your subs in parallel and bridge your current amp.

i don't know what quality stuff you have but that's seems to me to be the best way to go for your subs and amp.

Don't bridge current amp...

(2) 4 ohm subs in parellel equals a 2 ohm load.

Your current amp will turn to melted goo if you try that, you said that it is only stable to 4 ohms in mono configuration. Get the one ohm mono amp for some real power (if you need it.)

On subs, as a rule of thumb, Stereo or Mono is just how to make power...Sound Quality really doesn't change, unless you take into account how your amp works at lower ohm loads;

When you lower the ohm load of your amp...distortion increases and the damping factor decreases...your bass will sound worse...UNLESS you have an amp that is spec'ed out to handle that.
