ok, say i am sending out 500 watts to on channel on a two channel amp(amp is bridged). so if i have two subs at 500 watts rms wired in parallel, will each sub get 500 watts? if not is there a way to do this with one amp? also, how do i get the max wattage out of my amp? like if it says 1000 watts MAX. how do i get the 1000 watts?

It's kind of hard to explain all that for ya. first off, No. you are not sending 500W to each sub. You're prob. getting 250W per sub. does it say 1000w max or 1000w peak? if it's 1000w peak, it's a misleading fact. A sub woofers resistance to the flow of electricty differs with the frequency at which the ac music current travels. So, if there is a bass tone at 100hz and you get a power oput of 227w. If you were keep everything the same and just change the bass tone to 25 hz, you might reach the peak 1000w. If it says 1000 max, that just means you'll have to shove the gains all the way up and the bass boost all the way up, and prepare for DISTORTION.

Yep, kid is right. Depending on what kind of amp you have, you may not even be sending 250 clean watts to each sub.
