I purchased a elemental designs 12O.44 in December and had a box by LoneRanger made for me. I haven't had the chance to gather up the money nor desire because of all the school work I had. 1st Year of College is now over and it's time to get the AMP. I haven't been keeping up with car audio in the past months because I was busy. So, I was wondering what amp should I get.

In December I was looking at the Hifonics BX 1000D (for the sub).

So, I'm basically looking for a front stage amp and a sub amp.

Any help would be appreciated.

Car 98 Acura Integra GS

As for whats in my Car already:

Alpine 9807

Front Speakers: Infinity Kappa 60.5cs, Component Speaker System

Rear Speakers: Infinity Kappa 652.5i,2-Way Speaker

Box: e12O.44 Specs

Box made by : Lone Ranger

Front Stage amp: ?

Sub amp: ?

It's funny, our setups are VERY similar. I also have alpine hu, infinity fullranges, a HiFonics Brutus amp, and am very seriously considering getting a pair of 12O.44s in the trunk.

For amps, I'd suggest HiFonics all the way. Cheap, clean power. Get a zeus 4-channel for the speakers and a brutus for the subs.

Take my opinions with a grain of salt, however. What I know is just from research, I've yet to gain much real experience of my own. But really, how many people with a HiFonics amp have you heard complain about how they don't like it?

Thanks for the reply! yeah, I don't know to much myself. This would be my first setup. I started getting into it during November or so... but then faded out cuz of school...so I know some stuff, but amps I'm pretty clueless with.. i just basically know what the good brands are..

I feel you man, we're more or less in the same boat. I have to say, however, the infinitys and the alpine haven't steered me wrong. My bx500d amp is in the mail, should be here thursday (though i do wish i would have saved up a little more for the 1000 or the 1500...). Have you powered the ed sub yet, to give it a listen? If so, what's your opinion of it?

nope, haven't powered it yet, LOL. It's been sitting here since December, sigh //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Hopefully if this job pulls through I'll be able to get an amp soon... It's pretty looking though.. such a big magnet

I posted on the sounddomain forums too and a guy said that Directed Audio 1100d5 would suit me well.. for sub and speakers..

he said:

"Directed 1100D5 from thezeb.com for $380 shipped. Will do 75x4 at 4 ohm and 400x1 at 2 ohm. Perfect. "
