Hey all! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wave.gif.002382ce7d7c19757ab945cc69819de1.gif

I'm new around these parts. I'm also new to car stereo. I have a '91 Mazda B2600 regular cab. It's not extended! But so far, I have a Kenwood KDC-419 head unit, 2 pioneer 4" replacements for the dash, and two Pioneer 3-way 6 X 9's behind the seats..

I want to get an amp and a sub to even it all out and get some mad bass going on! I'm not a huge rap guy, but I love bass nevertheless... Now I was wondering which amp and sub you guys would suggest? I'm not sure what would fit behind the seat? I'd love to put a 12" back there, but I don't know if I can! Might have to go for a 10"! But anyway...I just want some nice clean and articulate bass... So let's say Amp, Sub, Speaker wire, crossover, and all that! I'm going on about $300-$350 budget here! Gimme some input guys!

if you are not a big rap guy adn are jsut going for nice clean bass you may want to stick with 10 inch woofer in a sealed box. biger woofs will give you deeper bass. As far as brand you could pick up type-rs for like 100 a piece and that 50 or so for the box. add in a compelte amp wiring kit and you ar eright about 350 bucks.

to add to what JMAC stated, the IDQ is a great driver, not and SPL beast by any means but one of the better daily subs out there, and for the price that sounddomain is selling them for its a nice deal IMO

Hey, Thanks for the replies guys... I'm just wondering, how does this sub stand up to the likes of JL audio, like some of my friends are recommending me? Also, none of you said anything about an amp? I'm not sure how much power I need in this small amount of space.. I just want to crank.. I'm sure any amp and decent sub would be a lot better than I have now! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Well for what you said.. 150-250 RMS.. Bridged at 4 ohms. What would you recommend in that category? Remember my budget for everything is about $300-$350..

Cory

I highly reccomend something like an infinity kappa 12" sub (dual 4 ohm voice coil version) and a good amp like the Alpine MRD-M300 or the JL e1200. Make your own custom sealed box and you should be right around 350 or so (wiring kit included). A JL 12 W0 would be a good alternative. They dont require alot of power and still provide tight punchy bass.

Hey again. Bought the Tantrum 250.2.. Should be in the mail shortly! I guess i'll start making a box for the sub... But which sub should I get? Do you think that IDQ 10 would be better than a JL 10 3v2? Any others that work well in a small area?

Thanks for all your help! I'm trying to go for the best bang for buck kind of thing, without destroying my pockets! Have you tried the Ti10's?

Hmmm... They don't look that shallow.. But it says 500 watts RMS.. The amp is 250 bridged.. is 250 going to be enough to get it thumping pretty well?
