2) I am teaching myself Japanese. I do understand the frustrations of communication. I purchased a dictionary to assist. My grammer may be flawed, but my syntax is pretty impeccable.
Why, of all languages, did you choose Japanese? I ask merely for personal reasons, as my dad used to be able to speak it quite well some time ago, I've tended to find it interesting as well.. However, I would have thought Chinese to be a more logical choice, it seems to be more and more prevalent in the world today. Just curious is all! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fro.gif.c695f1f814b01c4ad99fe7f8cccadd29.gif
Interesting. I assume you've taken into account that China's economy has been rising quite rapidly, and could be in the same position as Japan in the near future?Because it's a business oriented language. Just because more people speak Chinese, Japan has the world's second largest economy. I want to bad to be a premier businessperson. I don't have the connects, so I try to put myself in the best possible situation if the opportunity ever arises.
Who cares?Aw man, I just totally derailed the thread didn't I? Sorry.Someone, somewheres a ***! So UH!

Indeed. But from my readings, the Chinese are more willing to "play" the game with Americans. Whereas the Japanese have cultural norms which you must follow. I am not dissing the Chinese at all, but they seem to accept liasons, whereas the Japenese tend to think highly of those who try to learn/accept/respect their culture.
