Don't think anyone here said there was anything wrong with ADD but you. You are the one portraying you and your son as having a disorder where normal life is not achievable without meds. I was diagnosed as a child and I never took meds for it, theres no point, its just a different way of learning things, not a disability. Practice time-management skills, practice self-control, and you won't need meds. Let your son do things that interest him and he'll naturally find success.

That is pretty difficult. I manage 90% of days. Some days, you ain't getting much out of me.

Why are you guys even talking about adderal as a means for your high. im personally offended for i take 30 mg xr and 20 mg immediate release everyday at 6:00 and 1:00 because i cant concentrate and sit still in school. You have no idea what ADD really does to you unless you truely have it. It like you have a constant buzz in your head. You brain is on 100% every moment of the day. it like you day dream non stop. You have no idea. You be laying in bed for hours because you constantly think about tomm. and stupid crap. look over at clock and you watch hours drift away.

Adderal is pretty much straight shot of speed. It works in the bodies of ADD victums because they lack the chemical that normal people have a balance off. So when taking adderal it balances out our system. It has the opposite effect on people like you. Whenever someones says they take adderal and they can stay up for nights at a time and what not, then that tells me you dont have ADD.

When i take ADD i become calm, relax, and actually sleepy. My eyes become heavy and my brain feels light. Im open to stuff and can concentrate. if the correct amount of adderal is taken 6 hours before you try going to bed you wont be able to. I must have my last pill by 3:00 or else im up all night.

so please dont be stupid and dont use this medicine as a means of a high.

Thank you, you actually have ADD, problally one of the only people here that can actually explain it in the right way, adderal is speed for someone that DOES NOT have ADD and it slows someone WITH ADD down so that they can focus, and I thought I was the only one that stayed up just thinking about tommarrow and stupid shiznit so much that I couldn't sleep.

So if you need to stay awake, why not take something not so harsh? Adipex (phentermine) works very well. Keeps you WIDE awake and you will concentrate but not near the level of addiction as adderall.

ok, it really hard to explain the whole thing now. I understand now where your getting at, how i can be calm and sleepy yet cant fall asleep at a certain point.

From my understanding it goes as follows. the chemicals in your body have a memory and a routine, when your falling asleep, several action take place which send a signal to your head to slow heart rate down, and send a chemical to your brain as well to pretty much shut down, from there thats when rem (rapid eye movement) and your body recovers from the day and whole energy release to recharge your self.

However the chemical in adderall has a timed effect on the process of the movement of these chemicals when its working. so when you take it to late in the day it disrupts your routine and the movement of the chemicals to allow you to fall asleep.
