I'd like to quiet my yukon but I don't really know the best way to do so. I know dynamat and secondskin and all the dampening things, but I don't really know where to start to combat road noise and a rumbling exhaust. It's pretty quiet considering, but I'd like to make it even more quiet. Any suggestions?

A sound deadening material like the ones you mentioned will work well. Don't do it half assed ... save up and do the whole vehicle. You'll notice a huge difference in the amount of road noise inside of the cab. If you don't want to do it all at once, you can do it step by step. Sometimes you can even mix and match materials for the various locations when it will be applied and results that you're looking for ... also whichever fits into your budget at the time.

What would be good to use for floors since they already have carpet and padding? Would you need as much there? I was going to use the liquid stuff and sheets in the doors. Thanks for the help.

You really need to talk to Ifandorbuts because he is the most knowledgable person in that field. Being he owns a sound deadening company //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wacky.gif.cf4a48f9e6dfe9504ffd2c946fd2f340.gif. Personally I would go with http://www.secondskinaudio.com, ifandorbuts owns that company as stated before and he will hook you up...

You can use material on the floor if you wish. Apply directly to the metal under the carpet. I'd do multiple layers there as you would elsewhere.

The liquid stuff is cool and works well. I'd be tempted to strip the interior and spray it on.

Liquid sound deadeners work the best, Dynamat makes some nice liquid deadeners but it's pricy. I've used a few and I like the Cascade VB-1. You can paint it on or you can get a spray gun and spray it on. It works better then matts/stick on deaderns. If you are going to do it, you will have to take the time and do it right. Take out all the carpet and do everything under it, same with the headliner. You'll also want to do the doors, the inner and outter part of them. Also doing the fenderwells well help a lot. If you are going to use the matts Second Skin makes good stuff and it's cheaper then Dynamat and it's just as good if not better. If you want to use the liquid deadeners, Dynamat and Cascade are good choices.

eDead V.3 ... or the X-Terminator ... whatever you want to call it. They're liquid too. Pretty cheap as well.

And that stuff WeDgE has/is getting ... huge bucket for cheap ... McMaster or whatever it's called ... might want to find the link to that - it was extremely cheap for the amount he was getting.

I read about that mcmaster liquid and was going to try that. I thought I'd use the liquid on EVERYTHING and then use the mat on the doors as well. That's all I was planning on doing, but that's why I'm here asking ya'll. :thumbsup Thanks again.
