AA Assasin 8's

Large subs will always have an upper hand in low end, IMO. There's no replacement for displacement, and the lower you play, the more displacement comes into play.

It's not to say you can't get 8s to play low enough for any normal listening environment. You just have to put a little more effort into it. As inexpensive as those AAs are, it'd be an awesome project.

Add enough 8's and they will do better. You can make up for the lack of displacement of a single small sub by going with several of them. You gain a lot of install flexibility by going with 8's as well. With the typical cabin gain of most cars, the Assassin 8's should play flat to about 10Hz.
