IM thinking good SQ system, thoes subs are alright, but not gonna compare to my w3's

Thoes audiobahn componts sound very nice, never seen a good set of comp 6x9's before...though i dont like their low end, but who needs it with her subs

And its all going in her 96 Poniac Grandprix

its all streetglowed out

red undercars, red in cars, (which unfortunatly dont go well with her blue LCD HU)

but no one but me seems to notice.

A little problemo with the set up

1. the audiobahns s ound like shit but im bl aming that on the american pro amp

2. The PA amp keeps blowing its 40 amp fuses, it goes into thermal 2 times, then finally the fueses just blow. Ive checked the lines, and all looks good. Does the fact that 4.5v preamps may be to strong make any sence?

Nope, your audiobahns are the problem. Voltage/Current is not audible, so your amp has little to do with this. Speakers and Crossovers/EQ's/DSP's are your primary sound determining items. The speaker foremost, as it produces the sound.

On your Power Acoustic amp, run through the obvious checks of the wiring, visually inspect every inch and determine that there are no parts of the power or remote that are touching the car chasis. Also be sure that your ground is solid and can not move.

Finally, what is the value of the fuse you have right after the battery on the main power wire?

Odd as it may seem to some, Power Acoustic does stand behind thier products pretty well, and they are usually very helpful in resolving any issues that may arise with thier products. If you bought this amp retail, you may want to give them a call about this as well, and see what they suggest.

I figured it out, strange...very strange.

THe poweracoustik was an easy fix, once i though up the problem.

The powerswich on her undercars was shorting out, and since it runs out of the DB, is caused a back up and the amp got pisses off, went into thermal, and eventually blew fuses.

Now that audiobahns and such on the other hand. I feel stupid as shit. i look at the 6x9,

one set of terminals runs into the large chrome mag, the other set runs onto the cone then down.

WEll i naturally assume the terms going up to the cone are the tweet, since they sit right on top...

well thoes were backwards

thoes are nice farging 6x9's, for what i Payed for them, and ive never seen many componet 6x9's, most just have a little crossover, built inline to the tweet.

her subs sound **** good, a few little things i want to try, but they are SVC, so its a little more difficult to expand.

But over all a successful project

the next step is the 5 1/4 componets up front

Tell me, how the **** to you get the door panel off, i get all the screws out, and now im just neverus about the retainer clips, how to i approach these?

start on a lower corner and pull. if u can, get a long (not real long) pry tool. that way u can get close to the clip. u should have to pull fairly hard, just go slow and apply even pressure. they should come out just fine.
