I had posted a huge post in the General Disc forum, with lots of questions, but am not getting any replies, so I figured Id bring each question to the appropriate forum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

AMP : 700w Boss 2 Chan, 2ohm Stable

Subs : 2 10" Kicker CompVRs

[ AMP Questions ]

3. Looking for a New Brand of AMP, as I really am not enjoying the Boss amp. Mainly because instead of having my REM wire run from my amp to the HU, its connected from the REM on the amp right to the + terminal on my battery, therefore keeping the amp on all the time. And I know this isnt good for it what-so-ever. This was done because I couldnt get the amp to turn on when I connected the REM to the AMP Turn on wire out of the head unit...Happened with my friend who also bought the same amp. Am I missing something here?

4. When I turn my car off, (the amp's still on though) there's a very slight thump of bass that echos from the subs, and Im thinking its something w/ the ground wire, as its 8 gauge, and my power wire is 4 gauge, and the REM wire running from the +Battery to the amp is 8 gauge also. If I replaced the ground wire w/ 4 gauge or connected another 8 gauge piece to the amp / ground, would this stop?

5. Yeah, newbie question here Im sure, but on my amp, there's a "LPF" copper button, that if i press in, all the sound goes to one sub and seems louder, and if its depressed, both subs play. I always have this so both play, I assume this is "Low Passover Freq" or something, just dont know exactly what it does

My orginal thread is Here and it has pics of the stuff if youd like to take a gander. Any help on any of these questions would be much appriciated!

Thanks in advance

first off.... you need to def have your head units remote controlling the amp.... one day you'll go to start up your car... and it wont start. 8 gauge wire for your remote is hella big too... 22-18 works dandy.

LPF stands for Low Pass Filter..... and its a good question why when you turn it on it directs the sound to one sub... maybe one of the snr. members can help you with it.

if your looking for a good amp, consider JBL's or for those kickers i would reccomend Power Acoustiks LT series.

Thanks for the input... Regarding the 8gauge for the REM, it was only switched to that because the 18 gauge that ran from the amp to the HU didnt work, so in order to get power to the amp, i ran the 8 gauge rem to the + battery...and its onl 24/7. its worked fine so far but i dont like having my amp on all the time. i switched out for 8 gauge to counter the 4 gauge power in order not to create heat in the smaller wire.

still curious as to whats goin on with the LPF, ill 2x check whats going on with that today...and i think i may be buying a 1200w Rockford fosgate amp from a friend, any suggestions?
