8V into Soundstream RUB300-2? For Focal 165K

Hi Folks,

My first post. Thanks for the mind-boggling wealth of knowledge, and all.

I just picked up a Soundstream Rubicon 300-2 (RUB300-2) 2 x 75W RMS @ 4 Ohms amp for a great price, but my mind was clouded by greed. I realized after I got home that it is only rated for up to 5V input. My Eclipse CD8053 HU has 8V preouts.

Am I screwed? Has anyone successfully mated the two, or a similar setup? I'd rather hear the good/bad news before I wire everything up and hear the dreaded clipping.

The amp is for a set of Focal 165K comps, if I can find them anywhere nowadays. On a side note, you think that amp would be doing them justice as far as SQ is concerned? Can you recommend a better amp for my application for under/around $200? The Focals are rated at 80W RMS, 160W max.
