8" for mid-bass

I am going to be making a console for inbetween my front seats in my 99 Explorer. I am looking to have a 8" sub on each side, and will have it x-overd to run just the mid-bass. Anyone have any experience with this? or if you may have had them in a door? If you know of a set that would carry an 8" componant set that would be excellent, although i will be installing somewhat of a center channel with the tweets. I have some INSAINE ideas for this and I am really excited. Thanx for your help, and input...
