6 speaker vehicle, 4 channel amp

I have a 2021 Toyota Camry.
I have a AudioControl D-4.800.
It's a 4 channel amplifier with a built in DSP.

My car has a speaker in each door (4) and 1 at the base of each A pillar.

Can i run 6 speakers with my 4 channel amp? If so, how?

Amp can run at 4 and 2 ohm.
Might be powerful enough to still get loud at 8ohm.


I'm going to initially have 1 12" XFL in the trunk with an Incriminator Audio 3k amplifier.

I just used so Google A.I. to help me.

Looks like I could wire 4 of the speakers in parallel and the other 2 like normal.

So another question: do I need to run the speakers up on the dash by the A pillar? Im not picky about imaging. I just like to jam from time to time.

I can be more simple than that. Run the rear doors off channels 3/4 and run the front doors off 1/2. Get some passive crossovers and wire the tweeter in the A-Pillars to them. Run a pair of wires off each front door speaker to the input of the tweeter crossovers. Just set channels 1/2 crossovers at like 80hz and all the way up. The passive crossovers will split the signal for the tweeters. You will now be running a hybrid "Passive/Active system".

What speakers do you have? Are they stock or aftermarket components?

I haven't purchased speakers yet.

The doors (front and rear) can take 6.5" and 6.75" (or so says Crutchfield).
The speakers on the dash are apparently 3.5".

Seems to me It would be nice to run just a woofer in the front doors and a 3.5" in the dash. Then use a 2-way speaker for rear doors.

To best advise, needs some additional information.

Is the OEM setup the JBL system with the 9" screen, or is it the 7" non-JBL setup?

You have a pretty advanced amplifier in the AC D4.800; you don't want to let it go to waste.

I'm going out on a limb here, and assume that maybe you aren't familiar with setting up the DSP, or maybe you are?

At any rate, the Camry has 6.5"-6.75" front/rear door OEM openings, 1" front pillar options that can be integrated or adapted for a few different 1" to 1.5" tweeters.

If you go with components and just the D4.800, you will have to use passive crossovers, which is kind of a shame given that you have a DSP amplifier that will output to an additional amp.

Before you jump in and buy any more stuff, let us know which system came with the car, your level of experience with the AaudioControl (or any) DSP tuning, and your installation/fabrication skill level.

It's a 7" non-JBL setup and I have zero experience withDSP.

That's a tall order to overcome.

I'd recommend you watch as many YouTube videos on that DSP software; there are plenty out there from CAF that go into detail on how that is used before yuou go too much further.

The best setup, tuned incorrectly with DSP witll sound worse than a properly installed inferioir setup, without DSP.

Check out car audio fabrication and Audicontrol DSP, lots to know and learn about, needing a mic and software like REW to see what it is you're not hearing so that you can tune the output accordingly.
