I know there is a ton of opinions on rear fill and whether to have it or not. Personally, in my suv, I want it. That being said, here is my question
I have depth problems in the rear of my Xterra. I was looking at the Power 152 and 162s. The 5.25 are rated at 65 rms, and the 6.5 are 75 rms. Most 6.5s that actually fit my Xterra are only rated about 40-50 rms and my Alpine amp is running about 55-65 rms. Ihave pioneer 6x9s in the back right now, and they sound like crap, so I want to upgrade for rear fill (I have a 10in Punch Hx2 in back too), but I didn't know if 5.25 would be adequate. Since I am new to this, I was wondering if the size of the speaker made as much difference as the power rating. Since I have my HPF on and set to about 80-90hz, I have cut out the frequency that would be getting to the back speakers anyway, so can someone tell me if it makes a difference in terms of 5.25 vs. 6.5?
Thanks!
