3 RE8's or 2 RE Se10's

I would take the 2 SE 10's, like ngsm13 said, they are a higher line of woofer. The surface area would be pretty close between the 3 8's and the 2 10's but I think the 10's would be a little nicer.

Just as another option, maybe you would consider an SX 12 if that is in the budget.

actually, if u read on RE's website it says the RE8's are dual 4 ohm, if i remember correctly.
The first production models of RE 8's were the SVC 2 ohm model. They then moved to the dual 4 ohms for a little more wiring flexibility after they became popular.

BTW: To answer the original question, the two SE's will be louder, but the 8's sound phenomenal.
