2x12L7 vs. RE XXX 15"

I know that L7s would be way louder even in a sealed box compared to 15" in a ported, but how would L7s compare to XXX SQ wise? Would they be clear at least a bit (i never heard 2 L7s). and could one run 1 huge amp to both and not miss out that much on spl? or just go with 2 amps feeding 750wrms to each. also what kind of box would you guys recommend to 2 12L7s? Im maybe considering getting 2 off of ebay for 450

First off the L7's would not be louder in a sealed box compared to a 15 XXX Ported. No chance of that happening b/c of the 15 having 1) more power handleing 2) being ported. My buddy has a pair of 12 L7's and they are muddy as heck but his are ported. The L7's would not stand a chance agains the XXX in SQ unless hte L7's had a perfect box and the XXX had a horrible box. You would be better off porting the 2 L7's then they might be louder then the XXX but they would sound horrible... The XXX would have way way way better SQ all the way around...

IMHO, two portwed L712's would be much louder, if installed in the smaller ported, they will still sound great...

2 L7s can get pretty loud. If you puttem in a ported box id say good competition between 15" XXX and L7s.

Ported 12" XXX

The XXX has one the best architecture's around XBL2. That sub has some of the best SQ and puts out massive SPL.
