im running a modded mtx 1501d. im trying to save as much money as possible here. im running an optima yt in the back with a 2/0awg ground and a 1/0awg power line from my battery under the hood.

im going to hook up the amp about 2ft away from the battery. Would it make a huge difference if i were to use 2awg over 1/0awg?

is there any way to determine how many amps are going to the amp? the amp is modded so it accepts anywhere from 12-16v and can take ohms down to .333 i believe. The amp run an rms of 1500w @2ohm so im guessing it does anywhere from 1600-2000w @1ohm

Yes:

watts/volts = amps

1200 watts / 12 volts = 100 amps

Depending on your actaul watts and actual voltage of your electrical system your mileage may vary.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
