What’s up guys! Been awhile. I’ve recently completed my new build and thought I’d share with the community. I’ll be getting back into competing this year, and will hopefully be able to meet some of you fine folks in person in my travels.

2020 Ram Crew Big Horn Midnight Edition

HU: Factory Uconnect 12”
Integration: PACAmp PRO AP4 CH-41 - Toslink to Amp/DSP
Front Stage: Focal Utopia M 3-way components (6WM, 3.5WM, TBM)
Rear Fill: Focal EC 165 K2 6.5” coaxials (not used on primary tune)
Subwoofer: Focal E 30 KX 12” (1.26 cuft sealed after displacement)
Amplifiers:
1) JL Audio VX600/6i (tweeters, midranges, and rear coaxials) - Main amp for networking
2) JL Audio VX400/4i (bridged to two channels - 200 watts x 2 at 4 ohms - driving Utopia 6WMs in the front doors)
3) JL Audio VX1000/1i (subwoofer)
JL Audio DRC 205 mounted below HU
Networking: JL Audio VXi-HUB

The truck is an eTorque, so the factory electrical system is rock solid. Factory battery was replaced with X2Power Premium AGM. 0 gauge power and ground ran from the battery to distribution block on rear wall. Also grounded to chassis. 4 gauge power and ground to all amps.

Subwoofer enclosure and amp rack built by NetAudio in Witchita Falls, TX.
A-pillar pods built by MTI in College Station, TX
Install and tuning completed by Suncoast Sound in Monroe, LA

Big “Thank You!” to Paul and Austin at NetAudio, Jim, Matt, and Josh at MTI, and Zane, Blake, and Keith at Suncoast Sound!

We used an entire “shop roll” of SoundSkins. I also used a box of Black Hole Tiles in the front doors, with a few left over for the rear doors. The tiles make pretty decent decouplers also. 😊

The truck is around 80% covered and dead quiet. I haven’t heard any rattles, noise, or anything reverberating. Every seam is lined with butyl rope. Decoupler was used on A,B, and C pillars and door panels. I’ve lined the roof with Fibermat and left over soundskins. It’s the first build that I haven’t had to chase down some obscure noise.

I really like the location we settled on for the DRC-205

The HUB is mounted upfront under the glovebox. Easily accessible for any maintenance and doesn’t put any strain on the optical cables.

Fully test it without the ACR-1. TBH it sounds like an amplifier issue. Try connecting your phone direct to the amp via a 3.5mm to RCA cable. If...
