2003 Dodge Durango

MODS: Dont move this to car preformance/repair, theres alreay one there, but nobodys there to answer my question.

Can you mod Dodge Durango's and make them fast, like 0-60 about 6 sec or less?

If so approx how much money would it take?

Oh, and does anyone happen to know the stock 0-60 time for an 03 Durango?

I know they wernt made to be fast, so most of this info is hard to find, but I want a vehicle that is fast, as well as have a bunch of room for a system, and a Durango is perfect, for size, and I love the looks of them, and they already have a V8 engine with 5.9 l dispacment, so the engine is already good, but id want sumthin fast too.

Your going to be much happier if you go about it the proper way and not get some cheap parts to do it the half assed way...

Proper way...

New air filter, i believe the d dorangos are carbed, so you wont be able to get a cold air injection kit, so something like a 4" K&N filter, get a ported or polished.. or both throttle body, new headers, new y pipe, new catback with intermediate, take off off the cat converter add a dump, doing all this will not only make it sound much better but add a lot more hp / rwhp, .... the propper way...

All of it is pretty priceing together, but you can get it piece by piece, not like you have to buy it all at once, and with each addition you are going to add enough hp to see a difference, so its something to keep you going.

Check out JEGs.com, or summitraceing.com for all that stuff, lowest prices around, and all you have to do is select your vehicle and it shows you all the parts just for that car, yes all the stuff is vehicle spacific, except your air filter, just have to make sure it fits under your hood and will go on your throttle body

whoever said its carb's is an idiot.

1. throttle body spacers are paper weights. useless. its been proven over and over again. ESPECIALLY ON FUEL INJECTED ENGINES.

2. mods you shoud consider

a. if you don't care about the exhaust getting louder, i would get long tube headers, high flow cats, muffler of your choice, and exit of your choice.

b. Get an sct tune like the x-cal2 from someone who specializes in tuning dodges. This will tighten up your shifts alot and pick up a few xtra HP.

3. electric fans (if you don't have them)

4. under drive pulleys

5. new intake (airforce one)

thats it as far as bolt ons go. after that its forced induction.

You cant legally do an exhaust dump on an SUV, well at least not in texas.
