2 SA 10's in a focus. exchangeable port

I built and designed this box for my brother. Before this he had the free box design from sundown audio, but it was just too huge and heavy. My bro is in college about 4 hours away so he has to travel a lot, and with his old set up he would have been screwed if he got a flat tire. As far as storage went, if he need to bring anything with him it often left him without bass.

I came up with this design because it utilizes the space a little bit better. The box easily fits through the trunk opening, but also fits through the rear seat opening. If he gets a flat he can simply push the box through the rear seat opening enough to get his spare. The 3/4" birch is also much lighter than the MDF that the previous box was built with, and the added efficiency of the octo port saved some wood weight.

My bro wants to compete in some of the local competitions, so we built this box with an exchangeable port. The current set up is 2.16ft @ 35hz. With a reverse mount and an all external SPL port he has the potential to have 2.5ft^3 and whatever tuning he wants for a comp. Its all on a SAX1200, or maybe SAZ I dont remember.

Bonus, peep the sub on the right side. That is Jacob fuller's signature on the cone. Back in the day I met a dude named taco that was a summer intern at sundown. He sold me a test prototype that they liked a lot, and here it is about 6-7 years later still banging.

Looks nice... that just makes me want to buy that router I've had my eye on... LOL!
Do you subscribe to Car Audio Fabrication on youtube? Mark did a review on the router he suggests for car audio dudes and it is awesome. Essentially it can be doubled a small table router as well, which is what I am dying to get, and will probably be a near future purchase hopefully.

Yes... But unless it's a cheapo... Harbor Freight is more to my budget...
Harbor freight has a little router that is 30 bucks. I was going to pick it up one day to check it out, I'm sure it will get your through the basics. The bit I used on this build was a cheap one from harbor freight, they really **** to use, and pretty much start the wood on fire after 1 or 2 uses, but I have cut probably 12+ woofer holes with it. It is completely black lol. Whatever works I guess. My brother builds 3-D printers, so we just 3-D print all of our circle jigs for the size we are needing.

Don't mind him. He's "unable" to build an enclosure.
I've built a few octoports tho, still sitting inside my garage.
yeah i now don't have say saws son took 1 circular saw i had and no i could not cut straight enough with that to make a box anyway, also i don't have even a truck to get wood here or a jigsaw or router or clamps or anyone to help so yeah pretty unable with just my 20v drill.. and no i don't wanta spend $300-$500 for tools to make a $150 box

No joke, I got a tiny table saw, basic jig saw, old router and a belt sander all for like 40 bucks at the pawn shop. I still use the belt sander and jig saw all the time. Im from the boonies, everything is DIY out here lol
