2 big time rookie ?s please help!

First one is what is the big 3? lol I know it has something to do with your electrical sytem and making it suitable for handling your amp but dont no the specifics.

Next one is what is the purpose of a capicator and when does it become necessary? I plan on running a 1600watt brutus amp and am guessing im going to need one can anybody suggest a good one?

Holds juice for your amp to take, instead of drawing it straight from the battery to amp the cap slowly takes juice so theres no dimming lights. Since people do the big three cap's are kinda useless, I have one and like it. I got it for free(1 farad) and don't recommend spending money on one, but if you can get one it wouldn't hurt.

The idea behind it is to be a stored charge so that when your amp requires a big draw there is a reserve there so that your other electrical components aren't adversely affected. In actuality, the rapid discharge during large pulls requires recharging immediately after which will still be drawing from the electrical system anyway. From what I understand there is still some moderate usage for a capacitor in smoothing out the voltage spikes in the supply, kind of like the rectifier used in a distributor, its really just a dampener.
