Alright, well.. I'm looking into adding a little horsepower to my car. I know it might not be worth it since it's an automatic, but i'd like to try anyway. The car is a 1998 Acura Integra GS (Automatic). Now, I know some things about cars.. but not a lot. I'm still learning.

I was wondering what your guys opinions were on on whats good brands to get.

I'm looking for now: spark plugs, wires, cold air intake, performance chip, and muffler..

later on when i actually have more money i'll invest in the rest of the exhaust + throttle body...

and no, my car isn't riced out.. it's compeletly stock except for the sound system.

thanks for any help that is givin..

changing spark plugs to me is like capacitors in car audio. don't waste money on them, go for something else. More horespower is good, but if i were you, i'd spend money on beefing up the brakes and suspenion first. A stock integra type R, driven correct, can be a devastatingly quick vehicle. A GS shouldn't be TOO far off too.

I say get at LEAST better brake pads first, instead of plugs. Then go for chips, they usually do wonders. I don't really feel much with the so called cold intakes and ram air BS. But it SOUNDS like you're going faster, with the sound of suction.

chip, muffler and air filter, these three will allow you to feel a bit more power.

What brake pads would you suggest?

(thanks for all the help you're giving)

brake pads, there are lots int he market. I don't really see the maker as much as I do the material it's supposed to be made out of. Metal pads are usually good, but they make a whole lot of brake dust, and make your rims go black in no time.

As for brands, the tope ones that I can think of are AP racing and brembo. I think that might be a tad overkill, and I've tried Spoon brake pads, they were satisfying.

EBC or something, with their green stuff/ red stuff brakes, they are pretty good too.

i really wouldn't waste my money on a auto integra if your goals for to make it fast and race. Intake, header and exhaust only give u a max 12hp total. doesn't really do much for performance wise. might gain .2 sec on your 1/4 time. It should run mid to low 17's is what most non vtech integras run. The GSR runs mid 15's well the type R runs low 15's to high 14's. It also depends on the driver and if its auto or stick. They should handle pretty well without much upgrades so i wouldn't worry to much about that. Another option u can try is a dry NOS kit but make sure your motor is in good condition before u do use it.
