Has anyone used the 16 volt batteries on the market? If so what were the good and bad about them?

Yes for some of you who are saying "there is no such thing as a 16 volt battery for you car, well there is." The manufacture says it will not hurt you car elec system and it will boost your amp output by about 25%.

Not only do you need an unregulated amp to take advantage of the increase in voltage, but you also need a new alt with an adjustable voltage regulator that goes well above 16V to charge the thing. Once you get to that point you are going to be doing damage to most car's electrical systems; blowing bulbs, frying computers, etc...

Helo I was told that most cars can handle a 16 volt power supply. That is what this company said. But of course they do not fix your car if it breaks it. They said to use the battery as your second one, and then put a disconnect switch in to isolate the battery when not in use. I am not willing to risk hurting the car I drive everyday. Not for a few more watts. Now if it would boost my MPG that is a differnt story, this 10 MPG **** is for the birds. When I drive 100 plus miles to work everyday I do not get paid enough to make up for the gas.

use 2 8 volt batteries and wire them together to get 16 volts doesnt that make more sense email me if u need to know how to charge 8 volt batteries this is what im using 4 8 volt golfcar batteries wired in pairs for 2 16 volt power sources my amp can handle 17.4 volts max and im using a 5 farad capacitor and my alternator has bigger stators on it which cost 80 dollars to get rebuilt now my alternator charges to 180 amps u need more than i have explained to get the volts broke down for the 8 volt batteries but with 2 16 volt power sources ill be taking to most advantavge of the amp as possible. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif
