15's vs. 18's

Well solo-x's are pretty much meant for SPL only, sound like *** warmed over. While Im no fan of L7's generally (they are... okay), they'll sound alot better than solo-x's, but not get as loud. Your choice from there.

4 15 l7's/2 solo x 18's? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wacky.gif.cf4a48f9e6dfe9504ffd2c946fd2f340.gif you know how much space your gonna need for that?let alone how much that would weigh???? especially with the solo x's they'd be over 200 pounds worth of subs.i'd go for the L7's over solo x's.solo x's sound terrible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sick.gif.b1847c8dabbfeeddbcf1a78052249e10.gif ,if they won a sq comp that would have to be a GREAT install, cause they really do sound bad.

4 15's over 2 18's any day.... imo but shit,, your gonna have to build a box and bolt it to the top of your car,, cuz thats gonna be one massive box if you go with 4 15's

Have you ever heard a Solo-X before?

I'm not doubting that you have, but I just want to make sure you've heard them in different setups before you go around telling people what they sound like. I myself haven't heard them yet, so I can't say what they may sound like.

yeah i've heard the 18 and 2 12 solo x's on many occasions for comps/and music and they really do pound don't get me wrong. But they sound horrible with music,i prefer the SQL subs that get really loud while sounding good, and can put up decent numbers.but thats just me ,try and hear a solo x for yourself,if you into sq you probably won't like it,but who knows?

i would choose 4 15's ill explain:

4 15's cone area will be 60

2 18's cone area will be 36

4 15's - RMS of all 4 - about 4,000

2 18's - RMS of both- about 10,000

1 15" ported - 3-6cuft.

1 18" ported - 5-10cuft.

if u have the money to spend go for the 18's but with the more cone are from the 15's and the less $$$ youll have to spend on an amp to get those babies poundin for high results, i would go with the 15's :thumbsupw

either setup will be unbelievably loud. get ready for some new alternators. no one has solo-x... but four 15"s... such a hard decision.i say 4 15"s.... probably better sq, dont need as much power, more cone area.... and you can play thatbig tymers song... make sure all your wires are hidden though. whatever you get, post your numbers in the thread called "your db numbers!" in the competition and team caraudio.com forrum

anyone whom buys solo X's for a SQ setup needs to be examined anyways...for a true SQ setup, get smaller subs like 8's or 10's...tops....as far as street installs, 95% of the ones we sel are street bump cars...SQ would be more on the front stage than the sub anyways.....

Gary Biggs did use them for SPL points when he won Wolrd Champion, not the SQ part, but SPL part, whcih adds points overall for the award.
