12V or 14.4V ?

I'm currently in Germany and thinking about replacing my US JVC headunit with a German Kenwood unit. The thing is that I believe that US units work with 12V, whereas German units work with 14.4V. So if I decided to change the headunit, will it work at all or will it have any implications on my battery or alternator? FYI, I am driving an 2000 Eclipse GT which I imported from the US....

There's no difference. All car electrical systems are the same. Specifying 12 V (battery only) v.s. 14.4 (engine running) is just semantics.
