it wont kill my amp it is stable to a 1/4 ohm can i get there with less than 8 subs what about 4-2ohm dvc or 4-4ohm dvc. your help is greatly appreciated!

j rock-------- what kind of amp is it

( high curent) and what brand (example)

kicker xs 100, orion hcca, etc

if you amp is stable at 0.25 in bridge/mono

then you can use -

4 each -- dual 2ohm voice coil subs wired in parallel

for a 1/4 ohm load to your amp or

4 each-- dual 2ohm voice coil subs wired in

series/parallel for a 1ohm load

to you amp or

4 each-- dual 4ohm voice coil subs wired in parallel

for a 1/2 ohm load to your amp or

2 each--dual 2ohm voice coil subs wired in

parallel for a 1/2 ohm load to your amp:cool:

i was lookin at some subs the other day they were four voice coil subs maybe that would work . those subs are made by concept audio. their wabesite is conceptcaraudiovideo.com they should have them there i was just lookin at them in a magzine

thanx for all of your help it is greatly appreciated you have solved one hell of a problem for me. my amp is a soundstream 10.2 high current it is stable to 0.25 inbridge/mono at 4ohms it only does 25watts and at 0.50 it only does 200watts but at 0.25ohms it does 1000watts so you can see why i need to get to a 0.25ohm thanx a lot

Be aware that the total load includes the resistance of any wire and connections (junctions) between the amp and speakers. When you're using such low impedances it becomes even more important to use the fattest, shortest, bad-ass speaker wire you can find and solder the terminals if at all possible.
