The m25 mkii is the tweeter not the mid. I'm not really interested in the SI 6.5 mid. He is coming out with an 8inch next year.

Ok but other than ldac what other Bluetooth codec can even support high res? I'm not convinced Bluetooth has the bandwidth for the large audio files of high res. And yea I was looking at the stereo integrity m25 mkii myself. Don't care how they are pretty much only flush mount with the screw...

You ended up making me look at si and I'm probably gonna go with the siq 125.4 and 1500d for my next build And yea I talked to Nick briefly this morning about the tweeters. The moral mt300 and audio frog gb10 are both good alternatives. Both are just more expensive. You are gonna end up...

Yea I don't know how to test it post headunit. Out of my depth there. Personally I don't car to get the absolutely highest fedelity. It would be nice but I know in a car there is a point of diminishing returns. If I could get the 24/96 or preferably 25/192 I'd be happy. Really I just want to...

Amp with Dsp built in help

I've looked at quite a few headunits and several have dacs that can support 24/192. I've still yet to pick my dsp since my pioneer deck was performing most of my dsp in my last system. To get coaxial or s/pdif input for a dsp I'd have to find an external dap to pass the signal through and...

Supposedly tidal bypasses the androids internal dac now when using the USB as an output least that was what I had read. I don't have any interest in apple products so I have to look at other options. And since I don't have a large database of music high res streaming services are interesting...

Amp with Dsp built in help

My understanding is that if I run tidal through android auto wired it bypasses the phones dac and pushes the work to the head unit. In that case most upper end, Sony, pioneer, alpine, Kenwood and jvc decks would be able to handle 24/192 to anolog out. Analog out will still carry the same but...

Amp with Dsp built in help

Yea the only thing I'm hing up on is getting high res out of my phone. Tidal is supposed to override the androids 24/48 set output to a bit perfect signal but to input that signal into a headunit is where I get lost. I don't know of many headunits that can take audio signal direct without using...

Unless u are feeding digital signal straight bto the dsp the dac will be limited to the first output. Most android phones are limited to 24/48k, cd is 24/44.1k USB stored files are limited by the headunots processor. You threw me down the rabbit hole here and actually set me to do changes to...

Measure out the space you are willing to give up for the box length×width×height÷1728 that'll give you the gross airspace you have. That will tell you what subs you can possibly go with. I don't recommend less than 2 6.5s ported or 1 8 sealed and really I'd prefer the single 8 to be ported
  14. winkychevelle

Amp with Dsp built in help

Don't discount a pair of 6.5s if you need to save space. Savard makes the hi q in 6.5 and 8inch which are also quite good. It really depends on how much room you want to give up Dayton audio makes the ho 10 which works well in smallish boxes and is comparable to a w6. Sound quality and...

Amp with Dsp built in help

It appears to me that the mosconi as coaxial and optical. Optical is a great way to send signal to the dsp I didn't know if your head unit is capable. This simplifies install to 1 input wire granted it's fiber optic cable and has to be run carefully since it cannot be pinched or kinked. Fiber...

Amp with Dsp built in help

I'm sure it's a fine unit. From the looks of it you will be using front and rear RCA outputs of your headunit to drive the dsp then channel 1&2 got to the amps 1&2 or front for tweeters, 3&4 go to the amps 3&4 or rear for the mids, and 5&6 go to the amps sub input. So 5 sets of rcas total 2...

Amp with Dsp built in help

I'd your dsp has front rear and sub inputs yes if it doesn't just use the front and rear for the dsp and then run from the dsp to the sub inputs of the amp. You lose subwoofer control in the headunit this way which is why alot of people run bass knobs when wire that way. You could run...

14awg speaker wire is fine, I think most of my truck is actually 16awg and I run quite a bit of power. Distribution blocks come in so many shapes and sizes. It should not be hard to find a compact version. 4awg is only good for 150amps of current which will starve the amps if you run them...

Amp with Dsp built in help

Yea assuming the wire is big enough to be spilt you can use a distribution block. The jp8 requires 120amps of current and the jp84 requires 60amps. So 180amps total. To supply that you would need at minimum 2awg split to 2 4awg, or a 1/0 awg cca wire split to 4awg. Or best option of all 1/0...

You could wire them in parallel with the mids assuming both mids and tweets are 4ohm, or to the front channels of the amp and the mids on the back. You won't need the crossover boxes for just the mids either
  29. winkychevelle

Amp with Dsp built in help

If you aren't using the crossover boxes you need to either be able to set a hpf to 1.5x the fs of the tweeter or install bass blocker capacitors which commonly are made for 3khz as a general standard. Either way do not run your tweeters without a hpf at least set to 2500khz and the db slope...

Aiming the tweeters will be the most drastic change. And you could swap just the tweeters using those crossovers assuming the ohm load of the new tweeter is the same as the old tweeter. Crossover point might not be ideal but it would work. And yea I don't run rear speakers or rather I have...

Amp with Dsp built in help

I don't think your component set is inherently bad either. Jumping up to high-end of course you are going to notice a difference. High end mids have more stout mids and usually larger tweeters that are more warm than sharp to the ears. I'm thinking those little 20mm tweeters you have are what...

I would try and point the tweeters towards you first even if you just use Velcro or double sided tape to temporarily move them and find the best spot don't drill holes until you found what you want. The button on the crossover gan keep them at zero or +3db try pressing it and seeing if that...

Ok 1. You could hook up a sub to the stadium 4 amp if you bridged the rear channels.and just ran the rear speakers off the headunit. Personally I'd do a completely separate amp. I also would avoid self powerwd subs as they give you a little bass but not much. Most people eventually upgrade...
