Just buy a plate amp or get yourself a PA receiver and a cheap active crossover powered with an old 12V wall wart... Local guy is selling 2kW Crown Power amps for $230 for example.. used electronic xover off eBay or wherever and you are laughing I- Haunz

As posted what you are measuring is the DCR with only a few hundred mA of current. Nominal impedance would still be considered to be about 4ohms. If you were to measure the impedance at say 20Hz using a working amount of current with the coils at temperature you would get a much different result..- Haunz

Any monoblock sub amp with stereo RCA inputs is going to sum them in parallel.. Also most music has its sub-bass frequencies mixed on each channel equally anyway... Given if you have different bass tracks going on between Left & Right channels, you will not be able to discern a difference until... -

Entry level subs or not, MTX makes descent gear. And you are not going to clip a cheap 500 watt amp short of overdriving it with sine wave for an hour, and overpower two 500 watt subs. AUDIO 101- Haunz

The OP clearly has the TNE212DV terminator box, which is indeed rated for 500W per sub. Entry level MTX in a modified prefab box is less than ideal, but I would expect them to handle that amount of power. I'm surprised none of you geniuses posting bothered mentioning that it is perfectly...- Haunz

Subwoofer suggestions for my amplifier
Any dual 4ohm sub rated for 300-500 watts should work fine... then bridge each coil to a pair of channels... As posted above you might want to make sure the sub is the culprit before you buy anything... you can test it with a 9v battery to see if the cone jumps.... Also as suggested you can do...- Haunz

Whoops, a newbie blew his sub!
That sub is rated for 3000 'peak watts' It should handle almost any amp! Must have blown because of clipping (ie. a lack of power) 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂- Haunz

cracked slug.. is it ruined?
I've fixed shifted top plates with pry bars, wedges, shims, and JB Weld epoxy........ Never tried a cracked slug. If you can get it apart without breaking it up worse and spread some glue around it's worth a shot if you have some free time. You cartainly can't make it worse 🤣- Haunz

You have to just start ruling out problems/components. I would start by sending a signal to the amp from an mp3 player and see what happens. If there is no noise move to the crossover. If there is no noise send a high level signal to the LOC from a source other then the stock HU.- Haunz
