    Door speaker placement

    Thank you. I’ll make pods for the doors. Next question, My back doors have no speakers. The rears are in the rear pillars. My front doors have 2 each. All kicker but the new speakers are Polk. Should I put 2 in each back door or 1 in each door?

    So I already have 4 6x9s and 4 5x7s in my doors and rear cab corners. My sub box is a center console. I picked up 4 6.5s, wondering if it would sound good if they are built onto the sub box firing towards the doors? Or should I just try to put them in the doors?

    Thank you! The alternator is working great now. I reconnected the old alt cable to both battery and alternator. Seeing 14.5-14.8v at idle and no smoke.👍 Will a mod please change the title to Noob installs Mechman= smoke show 😁

    Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I ended up with the 370a Mechman. Showtime ftw. I just installed the alt and got a smoke show. Melted a wire when I turned the key. I don’t suppose anyone has an idea what the problem is?

    I got the box in last night and outer bracing done. I haven’t done a lot of listening yet, but overall I'm happy. Just wish it was a little smaller. It’s not as tight of bass (maybe boomy?) as with the sealed box but it plays 20hz with authority. And a 15hz test tone shakes the whole truck lol...

    I got the bottom, front/top corner, and back/port sections cut and glued. Just need to glue all that together and then the sides on. Anybody have pictures showing how to mount from seat bolt to box? I’m thinking some 1-1/4” bar stock and bend to fit.

    At full power (probably will live around 50% power), port velocity should peak at 32ms @25 hz. At 30hz it’s about 21ms. Does this group delay look okay? About 45ms peak @ 25 hz and 26ms @ 30hz. Any thoughts on port proximity to sidewalls? Is 1” distance enough for 4” ports? Im aiming for 25 hz...

    The subs are downfiring towards the floor. The sub on the right will be in the middle of the rear floorboard and the ports will fire right out the back over the back seats. This is a still a center console build. Slow bus is me lol, I’m terrible at getting my point across.
