    NavTV (Zen Audio) for GM

Of course, its a 2015 chevrolet impala ltz (new generation) with the lame factory 11 speaker bose system. Oem is just too integrated now for simple swaps. However, i did have an issue and am curious on your input. A month ago or so my system started to randomly turn the volume down on its own and it hadnt ever done that the previous 12 months it's been installed to that incident. I guess my question would be, is it possible that the audio playback device(galaxy s8+) was sending clipped signals to my lc7 therefore turning down at the head unit? I recently haven't had the issue within the last 3 weeks since I've upgraded my phone (s10+) and im just curious.

    NavTV (Zen Audio) for GM

From what my shop tells me, i could do without navtv with the ps8. It would just need quite a bit more tuning, they say the navtv just makes tuning for them a hell of a lot easier. It would just save me $700.00 (without install). For now i have an lc7(hence, the ps8 i would like), XDi 1200.6 running everything plus my sub. Im just adding a second woofer, a second set of tweeters, and sticking the subs on their own X2 monoblock, then im taking the power that's running my sub, and putting my 6x9s on that channel. They are currently sharing power through a single channel so my sub could have 5&6. Like i said, I'm still new to car audio, so i go by what my shop tells me. But the shop definitely doesn't seem like a bunch of goofballs from a local high school. They've done 2 other installs for me and i haven't had any issues. From what i gather they seem to be a pretty experienced shop as they also do MUCH higher end installs than mine. Edit: as far as accomplishments, that's about all im trying to do right now. Next year i plan to go full active and upgrade from XDi series speakers to the RS. Also, thanks for responding to my thread lol.
  3. Well, let's start with your budget. How much do you have to spend on this system? And one thing to note, all companies have multiple tiers of products. Some are better than others when its class vs class, but comes down to how much sound you can get for x amount of dollars.

Thanks, i am just curious because I'm doing an arc ps8 dsp and wasnt sure if i should just skip the Zen Audio unit. But i think I'll do without it.

    Help me choose my setup!

Yes for sure, but i find most times dealers of the products will usually give you a better price if you buy through them. Depending on your relationship with your preferred dealer you could get great deals. The Alpine PXE 0850S dsp is an amzing dsp but costs $629.99 on crutchfield. But my relationship with an Arc dealer, we'll just say he can best that for the PS8 which retails online at $799.00. I would say a lot of arc dealers would even come down near alpine price range for maybe $50.00-$60.00 more for a bit more dsp. A Rockford amp for a sub is anywhere from $1,600.00 on down. Arc has an X2 2500.1 you could get for about $1,100 or an 1100.1 for around $600.00 and both prices could be beaten at dealers. My preference on amps would be Robert Zeff's Arc amps. Just kind of depends on your resources i guess and how much you want to spend downwards of your limit or upwards.

Or say screw their products, buy your own online and pay them JUST for the install like someone mentioned earlier. If you feel comfortable enough to spec out your own box i would do that too, it could save a good chunk as well. Do not let them talk you into a prefab box. You could have the best sub in the word and slap it in a prefab and would probably sound shitty.

    Head unit turning volume down?

They just cut it? That's all you have to do to cancel the ANC on the bose centerpoint system at the amp. I should note that the shop that does my installs is a very reputable Arc Audio dealer in my area. I did not do any install myself. I suspect i may need to do a big 3 upgrade that would help my trunk light dimming. Im running 6x9s and 6.5s in series for my backfill since my sub is running bridged on 5&6. Perhaps not enough power to split on big bass drops?

    Head unit turning volume down?

Its new generation 2014 Chevy impala, it does have the ANC but the shop that installed it took care of the ANC on it. So im thinkin im clipping. It's a 1200.6 amp and i did NOT do any electrical upgrades. I noticed my trunk dome light dims on very bass heavy songs. No headlights or cabin lights dimming. So maybe i need to upgrade electrical? It's a stock 150amp alternator.
  9. Im running an Arc Audio 1200.6 with an idmax 12 and an LC7 to GM MyLink. For some reason on certain tracks when im barely at half volume, it turns the volume down by itself.

    Which amp for Image Dynamics

Yeah im really hype to be adding the PS8 and the PSC! The GM MyLink is giving me issues with the LC7 and i want to fix my imaging as well add a second set of tweeters to my backstage. Then im putting the two idmax on their own X2 mono. Next year im hoping to get another XDi 1200.6 to go full active.

    Help me choose my setup!

Sorry i did not see that i quoted you lol. But when i first started getting into it i had a cheapo pair of e10s and i liked them at first and then i had one u12. I just felt like they were a little too overpowering for me. But those are the only sundown products I've owned. I like my ID because it blends very nicely with my system and still has sufficient spl for me. I also got it on a good deal from a dealer in Oregon for less cash than the U12 which was a big factor also.

And MUCH better gear. If you want good SQ with a good blend of SPL, i would definitley do ID over Sundowns imo. I ran sundowns and loved em, but the bass is a bit muddy for me and not as clear as i wouldve liked. They're plenty loud tho, for sure.

Speakers and amplifier/amplifiers - Arc Audio Subwoofer - Image Dynamics Idmax Line HU - Alpine You could probably do that and have enough for a ps8 dsp depending on what speakers you buy. You could look online for an Arc Audio dealer in your area and see if they'll give you better prices than their online site (usually do). I just love Arc and ID products lol.

    Which amp for Image Dynamics

I have an Idmax 12 on an Arc Audio 6ch and it sounds damn good. If you can, i would maybe save a little more and do the Idmax 10 instead of the id or idqs. Imo they're significantly cleaner and louder in a custom sealed enclosure. Mine is ported tho but I'm going to be doing 2 12s sealed.
