the biggest they make is a 4500,1 that won't come close to the Taramps 8000.1, and the taramps is cheaper. if I do a korean amp it'll be orion

Looking for 2 15's for a Jeep Cherokee , box will be 7.5 cubes 130sq inches of port tuned to around 36hz Amp is a Orion XTR 2500.1 what I have chose for driver are the Sundown Audio EV3 15 dual 4 I like their warranty and replacement for recone price ect. but then I've been seeing a lot recently about the Deaf Bonce.. the Machete M15 V2 dual 1 is price comparable to the sun downs and have a way higher power rating. the M15 has 16mm Xmax compared to the Ev3 14mm tough decisions.. who has ran Deaf Bonce ?

    Crossover advice

First Don't Laugh making fiberglass Kick pods for my off road Jeep cherokee, gonna use these cheap Lanzar 6.5" subs and these DS18 tweeters https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BKGC5KK/?coliid=I34IOGHAFE7ZKI&colid=203VS48CYY7O&psc=0 would I be better off using those DS18 passive crossovers or using a 4 channel amp with tweeters on fronts and the 6.5 on rears and using amp crossovers to control them ? I couldn't find any crossover specs on those passives. OK now that I know everyone is gonna tell me those lanzars are shit. they are $20 each I think they'll make a decent mid... my Cherokee is no stranger to 4" of water in the floors when I go mudding... so i'm not gonna put a set of $100 mids in it, or I'd order Deaf Bonce 6.5s I plan to seal the kick pods best I can but if I screw up a Mid I ordered 4 just to have 2 spares.

    Crossover advice

prepping sub box to spray with Raptor liner, and amps will be fine, they are in the hatch area and so far I haven't gotten water back there. I'm sticking with Kick pods as they are louder and will be my only mids and highs, and will sound way better than mounted up high. main reason I take in so much water is I pulled carpet and drain plugs and raptor lined the whole floor.
  6. LOL, when I did DB drag, I blew a woofer and pulled all 4 (to swap out) and we decided to plug a good one to the wall and believe it or not, it took a good 30 seconds to smoke it..

    port Vs. wall question

if my port size is 6x22 how close can I safely get the port to back wall in my enclosure on inside of box ? trying to tune as low as I can but it's getting really close

    port Vs. wall question

yes that's my goal, and I sold my termlab years ago, so i'd have to borrow one. LOL

    port Vs. wall question

I did DB drag back in 06-07 so I like to go past the normal limits, this build is my first in years that isn't tuned to 60hz. that's why I'm over thinking this box design.

    port Vs. wall question

I just thought that xtr 2500.1 would give those SA15's what they wanted. I might just get the HCCA

    port Vs. wall question

seen tons of test, they test it at 12v. for the 2700 rating. dynamic it always does over 5k @1ohm but if i'm not happy with it i'll get the HCCA 3000. I know it'll do more than 5k

    port Vs. wall question

Orion xtr 2500.1 but it'll do 5000 all day on music, what would recommend for port area ? think 110 sq inches would get loud

SQ Vs SLP Real life applications

not a lot, take alt. bracket off put alt in with 1 bolt and you can see how much, and where. then just grind til the other bolt goes in. took me about 10 minutes with a grinder and flapper disc.

SQ Vs SLP Real life applications

you can get an 160 amp from a 2001-2003 Dodge Durango/Ram 5.9L you have to grind on your alt. bracket for it to fit. this is what I run got mine at a pick n pull off a 2002 durango

    port Vs. wall question

nope my port will be 6" tall and 22" wide for 130 sq inches of port at the bottom of my box, but inside of my box is only 20" deep. I could make a square port and fire it into drivers real quarter but only have 5" between box and interior panel. but I could remove it and throw some sound deadner on it. jeep cherokee XJ doesn't have a very big Cargo Area, still trying where to put Batteries after I finalize box design
  19. tat2Jerry

    Are JVC's crap stereos?

LOL dude we got some shit in common that's the same HU i ordered for my XJ.. Glad you gave it a good review, when I read all of it's features and specs, I expected to pay around $300 and it's only around $90

    Port Area

http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 How accurate is the calculator for port area on this site ? it's saying I need 138 square inches for 2 15" with 19mm xmax sundown SAs at 35hz seems like a lot of port for a 7 cube enclosure and being that big it's gonna be a really long port

I haven’t built enclosure yet, just in design stage, but I’m noticing that the online port calculators aren’t correct, thinking about calling sundown directly because when I tune to 38hz on Winisd my output jumps up a lot

    Port Area

So I should be good with 7 cubes and 130 sq inches of port. It seems like every online calculator is the same for port length but it comes up short in Winisd. Like if the calculator says 16” for 35hz , when I enter specs in Winisd and go to vent it’ll show 21” for port

How does yours sound tuned to 43 I listen to everything music wise but I also want loud
  24. tat2Jerry

    Port Area

I’m using a Orion XTR 2500.1 so they’ll have some power that amp is good for 5k
  25. tat2Jerry

    Port Area

it gave me around 16" length but when I put everything in winisd it showed tune around 43hz not 35
