Trying to get my first system put together!
  1. I just bought a new Pioneer AVH-P4400UB HU and I bought the 2Din dash kit, Axxess steering wheel control adapter, and I'm planning on buying the parking brake bypass. I already had an aftermarket HU, the Pioneer DEH-3200UB, with all the items needed for that install (wiring harness, dash kit, ect.). Do I need to get anything else to install my new HU? Like a new antenna adapter or anything?
  2. Ok great, sounds easy enough. Thanks for the input.
  3. So my current setup is a Kicker ZX500.1 amp (500 rms @ 2 ohms and 250 rms @ 4 ohms) hooked up to a Kicker 12" L5 Solobaric 2 ohms. I had it installed as I'm a novice with car audio installation so I don't really know how it is all setup besides the fact that the amp and sub are at 2 ohms. I'm selling my Kicker because it is too big for trunk space and I'm getting a Pioneer shallow sub that runs 250 rms @ 4 ohms. Can I just plug the two existing wires that would go in my kicker sub into the new pioneer sub despite the ohms difference or does it all have to be rewired?

    Whats a good angled subwoofer?

I liked the size of the angled box due to trunk space. Right now I have a Kicker L5 12 inch in a kicker ported enclosure, its really really big and thats why i'm looking to downsize the box. If I could get an angled enclosure that would work for my sub that would be awesome. I'm really looking for a sub with really accurate bass that will make a nice addition to my upgraded speakers, not overpower them. Any suggestions?

    Whats a good angled subwoofer?

Yeah, thats what I meant. How would a Kicker TCVT104 be? With my Kicker ZX500 amp?

    Kicker L5 08VS12L5 4ohm ported subwoofer

Someone just put one up on ebay and already has a bid for 200 bucks. I know its worth more than 80 or 120. I would say about 200 seems right.

    Whats a good angled subwoofer?

I'm trying to save space in my trunk so thats why I was going for a angled sub, is there any you would recommend?

    Whats a good angled subwoofer?

Like one of the Kicker truck angled enclosed subwoofers. I don't want to spend a lot and I want tighter bass than what I had with my l5 solo baric so I was thinking maybe a 10 inch. I have a Kicker ZX500.1 amp so what rms subs should I be looking for?

    Whats a good angled subwoofer?

Whats a good angled sub for the money? I have a Kicker ZX500.1 , 500W rms, so what would you recommend for an angled sub? I want an angled sub because I need the trunk space but love having my sub I have now (takes up too much space).
  10. Hey, I have a Kicker L5 08VS12L5 4ohm ported subwoofer right now that works really great but takes up too much space in my trunk. I'm looking to sell it but can't find any for sale for reference. What kind of estimate would you think I could get for my sub? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    First car audio system!

Would a Kicker Solo-Baric L5 2-Ohm 12" work with my ZX500.1 amp> The sub is 600RMS and the amp is 500RMS, is that too much of a difference?

    First car audio system!

I was told that you normally want to match amp and sub brands so thats the only reason why. Thanks for the input, ill look and around and see what I can find.
  13. I'm ordering all of my parts for my first setup and my sub i ordered turned out to be on backorder so I'm suppose to substitute it. I ordered a Kicker VCVR122 enclosed sub. I have a Kicker ZX500.1 Amp coming and I need to find a enclosed sub to match it. I'm looking for a single 12" sub that would match the RMS of the amp. Here are the amp specs Kicker ZX500.1- # ZX Series Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier # RMS Power Rating (14.4V): * 4 ohms: 250 watts x 1 chan. * 2 ohms: 500 watts x 1 chan. # High efficiency MOSFET power supply # LED power and protection indicators # Remote bass level input (Kicker 10ZXRC remote level control sold separately) # Tuned Bass EQ (0-18 dB bass boost at 40 Hz) # Preamp RCA outputs # Muting circuit cancels out unwanted noise # Boost, gain, and crossover frequencies are top-mounted for easy access # Balanced differential inputs for noise elimination and factory-radio compatibility # 3 Automatic turn-on modes (remote, DC offset, signal sense) # Optional edgy vinyl skins for personalizing heat sinks available # Optional Kicker 08ZXEC endcaps are available for all ZX amplifier models # High-density convection heat sink for extreme heat dissipation # Gold-plated RCA level inputs # Gold-plated screw terminals # Input sensitivity: * Low level: 125mV-5V * High level: 250mV-10V # Variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz, 24 dB/octave) # High-pass subsonic filter (24 dB at 25 Hz) # CEA-2006 compliant amplifier # Frequency response: 25-200 Hz # Dimensions: 12"L x 9-5/8"W x 2-1/8"H # Actual power exceeds rated power, documented inside each carton # 4-gauge power and ground leads recommended. Contact us for information regarding a discount on a select amplifier kit when purchased together. I would prefer a Kicker sub but whatever works best is fine with me. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
