  1. I use Torres box calculator (download free online) and when I build my boxes, I'm not concerned about 45's and only use one 1" dowel to brace the front and back together. I've done slot ported boxes but would rather go the aero port route...less headache with limited tools.
  2. I see why you're laughing. It's actually 28.22hz lol.
  3. Can you afford more depth? You can cut everywhere else but need more depth for an aero port to work unless you're comfortable with the port being 1.25" from the back of the box. I got 13x30x16 (hwd) and one 4" aeroport 14" long...2.51cf tuned to 22.88hz.
  4. Have a little common sense. It's not like you can't turn the gain down a bit🙄...and yes, I know all about old school car audio. It's been a hobby of mine for over 25 years now.
  5. I would have to disagree with your statement just because I like headroom and care about resale value.
  6. I think I would still take that over RF's Prime series though. I know the 1200 was dyno'd and put out rated but I'd prefer the looks of the Orion even if they both put out the same power. I know the XRT2500d did amazing numbers. I wouldn't expect the XTR1000 doing the same but can't imagine the it not doing rated, although I could be wrong.
  7. Yeah...I wouldn't do it. If you can tell us your budget, maybe we can give you some suggestions. Are you outside of the US?
  8. Don't do it. The Orion is a much better amp all around.
  9. So my understanding is that you don't have an ignition wire so you have to hook up the red to the cigarette lighter. Your yellow needs to be hooked up to a constant power (usually yellow from the adapter if you have one). If you hook both red and yellow from your head unit to the cigarette lighter, then your presets will not get saved as the power to that source turns off when you turn off your car. The illumination wire goes to the illumination wire on your adapter. If one is not available, then just tape it up and forget about it.
  10. Check the fuse for the cigarette lighter. Does the lighter still work?

I didn't like the idea of going from SAZ to SCV for some odd reason and I don't know why, even though I've never personally ran any of their amps. I've owned a few but just to resell.

    Best budget 2nd battery?

It's hard to go back to Optima ever since late 2000's when I had to warranty so many of their batteries out because of failure.

    Thanks for this information.

So do many other manufacturers. I've ran plenty of amps under recommended load in my days of car audio dating back to the early 90's. I have never blown an amp but thanks for looking out. Gonna run my XTR2500.1dz at .5 too:)
