My current 8's seem to play pretty low, but nobody even talks about them. They did a 148.5 @ 32 hz. Are people wanting 8's to play lower than that? The VFL's didn't even make his list. Those F8l 8's look pretty nice to me.

I tend to agree with you. I would say they are louder woofers over SQ, but I'd rock them for some 8's, personally.

Well let me put my input in on the 8's. I have had and heard many 8's from jl w7 to dd 1508 to ampere Audio 8, savard hi-q 8, massive audio hippo 8 and even strato 8 which in current running in my vehicle but waiting on my meso 8 that will be here next week. Of my pick I would go with what best fits your budget either used or new but hey I'm just a lover of 8" subs and especially one that sounds good at low and high volumes.

Budget isnt really a issue as 8s don't cost that much and will cost maybe 250 at most. Im looking for the same thing at sounds good at low and high volumes. How do you like the CT sounds Strato 8? what is making you switch to meso 8

I'm currently running 4- VFL 8's on a Sundown SFB3K. The box is 4.1 cubes net after sub and port displacement tuned to 33 hz. It's behind the seat of my Dodge truck. Here's a couple of pics.

I have to agree. Hell I have run the Cadence S2W8's and loved them. The only 8's I didn't like were Massive Audio Hippo. They sounded like complete crap. And they definitely do NOT handle their rated power.

Everything about the SSA f8l screams it will get loud and have great sound quality by looking at the specs

No. X-8 is an SPL subwoofer. SA-8 is a better sounding daily woofer. But the SAs also get loud. I have had many people not believe me when I told them I only had two 8s.

Those SA-8s are probably the best 8 I’ve heard with my own ears in a ported setup. Loud and clean. I also like my DD 8 I ran for years, but the sundown outperformed it by miles when I upgraded, keeping in mind that the DD was an old sub and the sundown is a new beast. I’m not sure if DD is still on the same level as it was 15 years back when I bought it.

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...
