I’m running 2 12w6v3 on sundown 2000 watt scv2000d amp.....
I wanted to see what your options are on changing it out for my 13w7 ported?
I feel like my subs are loud but don’t go low enough and if swapping for a single 13w7 would be better?....
I’ve looked at every forum and there are mixed reviews so just just looking for the best sq with deep low bass!!!
Thanks all!!!

2 12s sealed has more cone area, so I would guess they would get a bit louder, assuming you have them in the correct enclosure. A ported enclosure, as long as it’s built to spec, will have better low end I think, possibly giving up a little loudness. You don’t have room to port the 2 W6s?

I have both the 13w7 ported and 12w6 ported in correct boxes built to spec don’t know which one hits better...I feel the 12s get loud but not as low

define correct boxes

The reason I ask is that I’ve seen JL recommend sort high tuning in the past. I’ve done quite a few different JL designs. I remember a lot of times they recommended 36 hz. So if your box is tuned to that, you could easily get more lower end bass just by having a box that’s tuned to say 32 hz.

Right now I have 4 12" w6's in a sealed enclosure and I feel like in that sealed enclosure they get way lower than the 12 w7 I had ported or the 4 w6's ported. Granted, that's 4 12's, the w6's get decently loud, but I was definitely impressed with the output of my old w7. The box was tuned to 31 hz if I remember correctly. I never got the chance to put the w7 in a sealed enclosure. I guess my opinion would be 2 12" w6's, but I'm loving mine more in a sealed enclosure then when I had mine ported

JL ported boxes can be a little tricky. I've had really great success with them. The tend to work well in 4th order bandpasses too.

This is a really wide 2 12" w7 box that went in an old school monte carlo. it was loud.

Looking for a deal. Would prefer the 13w7 to come with an enclosure but wouldn’t need one for the 12.
