Shadow, Here are some pics of my F-150 when I had a 3-way active install. With the dash-level mids/highs and proper time alignment, the soundstage was incredible. The pods weren't really all that hard to build, either.

Those are great subs and can take definitely take 1000 wRMS daily. 250 wRMS won't drive the sub to its potential but will get it moving. Just make sure you set your gains accordingly - As others have mentioned, you can blow a subwoofer regardless of under or overpowering. You can find this...

It's not synced wirelessly like your phone is. Pretty much all clocks that aren't will drift a bit, at varying rates. My eclipse is a bit fast. Over the course of a year it's usually about 5 minutes ahead of what my phone says.

In most PA and sound reinforcement applications, the subwoofers are crossed over between 150 and 300 hz. Like everyone else has said, the low crossover point is for imaging purposes.
