its a 2010 forester, and i for sure know the positive and the battery to engine block route, but i want to confirm if this small black wire is where i should run my final one (after some clean up,) or if i should run it to the nut above the black wire but under the circular area. The black wire near the center of the image that is, (i couldnt draw circles from my laptop)

Run a ground to one of the mounting bolts on the alternator from the battery.
Run a ground from the engine to the frame.
Run a ground from the battery to the body/frame.
Leave any and all factory grounds or upgrade them as well. More grounds will not hurt you.

hold up, you only run one new negative to the battery?! im glad i double checked i thought i had this haha! im beyond rusty if you cant tell

The altentator i for sure know the run
the engine to battery is what i was going to follow as my 2nd but you didnt mention doing that above so i think i mixed that up with something
and the third i thought for sure was just the battery to that nut on the frame in the image i posted

I run two new Negatives to the battery.
ok so i think were on the same page ! i just want to confirm, i should run a negative from my battery to the black wire in the image correct? The other 2 i got, those ones are easy to follow the stock... this one hits a harness wrapped in tape and it becomes hard to tell which of the 3 ways it goes haha!

I see no image. The big three are all new wires anyway so you can put them where you like. 1 Power wire, 2 ground wires. I add a 3rd ground wire (big 4). From the negative of the battery to the mounting bolt of the alternator (This is an engine ground). From another bolt on the engine or head to the body or frame (this is my extra ground). From the negative of the battery to a shock/strut tower bolt (works pretty well as a ground).
