Gun laws got stricter under Trump than under Obama, and so far under Biden.

Trump really deserved harsh criticism for supporting red flag laws. Luckily, they never transpired. And even though i dont care about bump stocks, it was disgusting watching him cave in to mob and throwing in his support to get them banned.

He rescinded an Obama era rule requiring the Social Security Administration to report to the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System certain disability beneficiaries deemed unable to manage their finances due to a mental health condition. This is good, because it closes the door for the gun grabbers to say hey. . . your mentally unfit and unjustly disqualifying people from owning firearms.

he supported a lot of other things. No funding of gun violence studies, banning certain types of firearms from certain types of federal land, arming school staff etc. .

nothing has ever come of it though

Now that we're over the technicalities, can we have a productive conversation?

Epps is on video coaxing people to commit crimes. Trump is on camera telling people to be peaceful and patriotic. I suspect Epps was more effective (by the numbers) than Trump at bringing people to the capitol.

There is no way in the world that Epps was more effective than Trump at getting people to the Capitol - it's not even comparable. Epps is on video being shouted down by a crowd after suggesting they enter the Capitol - hardly coaxing people to commit a crime IMHO. Epps is also on video trying to keep things calm and peaceful at the police line. So what crime did Epps commit? Inciting a riot - no. Conspiracy - no. Obstruction - no.

It's an odd world where people simultaneously think Epps actions are proof he's some sort of undercover FBI agent provocateur, yet have don't have an issue with the people who actually rioted. Why anybody would think Epps is some sort of FBI plant is beyond me - you do know the FBI does deep cover operations. Why would they have a agent in the street on video saying "we need to go in" without a mask on? Why would their agent reveal his identity on video?
