Upstanding patriotic Americans supporting the federal government at their local fed courthouse...
They don’t look upstanding to me.
Ya see, that’s a difference between you and me: I don’t excuse the actions of one group based on the actions of another, like your ilk saying the insurrection is OK because of the actions of the rioters.

Like a child thinking it’s OK to kick his classmate because another classmate stole some gum.

The same people are responsible for both. That is easily found facts....for normal people with a few active brain cells.....them again....we have you

Let me get this right... you are saying "treasonous and traitorous" correct?

The "treasonous" accusation. I don't know who they betrayed our country to.

The "traitorous" accusation. Did any of these people overtly overturn the government? No.

I think if accusations are to be leveled at people it would or should be those law enforcement persons who let people in. By their very actions they could be call treasonous traitors.

Thoughts?

If they were complicit in allowing those people in knowing that they were attempting a coup, then they should be tried and convicted right alongside the pieces of shit who attempted it.

Not to nitpick, just for clarity's sake. ;)

Treason: the offense of attempting by overt acts to overthrow the government of the state to which the offender owes allegiance or to kill or personally injure the sovereign or the sovereign's family

Traitor is defined as one who commits treason.

So that said, do I think the rioters committed treason. I'd guess the majority of them just got caught up in the moment and made a really crappy decision. I'd guess only a small minority thought they could actually "overthrow" the gov't.

As for the Capitol Police who let people in: 1) They warned the rioters that they were breaking the law. 2) I don't think they committed treason; I think they made a "business decision" that they couldn't stop the crowd from entering anyway, so why risk life and limb for a loss cause... 3) For the Capitol Police to be traitors suggests they were "in on it" or wanted the gov't overthrown, which doesn't appear to be the case. They reluctantly let the people in.

Our country overthrew the previous government...so we're all treasonous...
