just bought a cheap "4 amp" microprocessor charger that basically said "yeah nope" to my northstar NSB AGM34 78

it was charging for an hour or two and then claimed to be done. I thought bulllllllll **** because resting voltage was 12.1 (on load, yes I know i'm an idiot for letting it get that low. I didn't know agm's build voltage on the terminals before and thought it was 50% depleted. wasn't testing under load.) reconnected charger, told me it was low as expected and then 30 minutes later claims it's done again.

I'm looking at ctek 5.0, noco 5 amp, and some other options.

please recommend me a charger that will work and not brick my battery please lmao. i'm sick and tired of false product claims.

batter is 65AH. i'd like it to charge in 12 hours from 50% depletion. I'd appreciate reconditioning and desulfation as well.

Ctek 7002.
i ended up getting the mxs 5.0 because the 7002 was 150 at the interstate store. I wanted to be able to return it fast in case it didn't work. whiiichhhhh it didn't. it went through the first 3 steps in like 5 minutes and sat in absorption (step 4). for about 2 and a half hours then completed.

terminals read 13volts flat but I haven't put a load on it yet. doing that in the next hour. but I doubt it charged that fast.....

what do you reckon is going on?

edit. got battery back in car and turned headlights on. voltage immedietly fell to 12.1

I use a black and decker 2a charger. I always trickle charge my batteries. I used the same charger on my LIFePO4.
i just been having problems lol. took it to oreilly and they did a charge and load test. according to their machine I'm resting at 12.6v and load tested fine. voltage was hovering 12.3 after that just running a/c on low. 2 different meters. plugged the ctek back in and it again charged for 2 hours then kicked off saying fully charged.

now it reads 12.8 key outs. 12.7 on accessory, and 12.6 with a/c on

Noco Genius 10
NOCO GENIUS10, 10-Amp Fully-Automatic Smart Charger, 6V and 12V Battery Charger, Battery Maintainer, Trickle Charger, and Battery Desulfator with Temperature Compensation

tried a local guys noco ten, that also refused to charge it. called a battery wholesaler that told me northstar agms want a high amperage or could refuse to charge, unable to overcome specific gravity at high discharge. manufacturer recommends at least 25 amps.

im looking at a few power supply/chargers by powermax that will give me 30-50 amp with variable bulk/float voltage and variable bulk/float amperage.
